News from Wednesday, July 4

Toronto Library Hosts a Comics Festival – I’m just going to have to go to one of these comics festivals. Seriously, they look like so much fun.
LibraryCamp: crowdfunded UK unconference for libraries  – Kickstarter meets librarians, staff and library lovers. More of this please.
School Librarian’s Favorite Websites for Teaching and Learning – More from the ALA conference. I’m thinking I might need to learn something about gaming and game design.
500 Yr Old Map Related to America’s ‘Birth Certificate’ Discovered in Munich – Maps, sigh.  I could stare at them all day and be content.
88 books that shaped America, at the Library of Congress – I’ve read a few articles about this LOC list and everyone has at least one book they think should be on it and a few that should not. I feel like I’m going to see this on Facebook soon as one of those lists people send around asking how many book you’ve read. I’m just happy “Howl” made the list. I’ll be heading down to the LOC next week – I can’t wait to check this exhibit out.
